Gateway Transmissions is a legitimate business. I had my transmission rebuilt in Holister but it blew up shortly after. I called up Max and he offered to do the same job for less and so far its been great. I just love the atmosphere and I feel like they're family to me.

Gateway Transmissions rebuilt my transmission. On the downside, I wasn't particularly happy with not getting a written bid. But, they did follow through with what they said and, subsequent to the fix, they did an excellent job of following up.

Gateway Transmissions was very good and wonderful to work with. They put in a complete transmission in our car, helped us troubleshoot trouble with a leak, and found and corrected a safety problem. I liked their kindness, honesty, and how they explained the procedure. K. & J. Schmidt

So I went to Gateway to have my truck taken care of and they failed to vacuum it after they were done and they had a poor response time when I was attempting to contact them as to how long they would be servicing my truck. All in all I was fairly disappointed.

I would not hesitate to recommend Gateway Transmissions. It was very cut-and-dry with them. I worked with a nonprofit organization, and the van we had wouldn't shift into the third or fourth gears. I took it into Bill. He told me what it was all about and was very accommodating. We need those vans every day to pick up our items from around the area. He got it fixed in good time and got us driving again. He was also very flexible with the followup, and he later helped us get the thermostat repaired.

Dave took the time to explain what needed to be done and what the cost would be. Fixed in a timely manner and in line with the estimate!

Never had my transmission fixed before so I have nothing to compare it to but it was satisfactory. Rob from Gateway Transmissions, I believe was the owner's son, was very attentive. There was no waiting involved. During the diagnostics, the owner spent time with me and drove my car around so we could figure out what the problem was. It was a very hands-on experience.

Gateway Transmissions did a really good job taking care of my transmission and getting everything back together there. I was out of town when they found another problem, so they couldn't get my OK to fix it. I did appreciate that they didn't add a bunch to my bill without talking to me about it. When I picked it up, it wasn't running quite right. They told me the computer had to readjust to the changes. I was a little concerned about that only because I would think they'd take a test drive after fixing things. Other than that, everything was great.

Gateway Transmissions ended up changing out the entire gearbox inside my transmission.They really took the time to let me know what was going on. They were very thorough with everything, and I appreciated how they kept me informed.
