Gateway Transmissions worked on brakes and replaced a transmission for me. Most auto places give you a big list of stuff that many or may not really need to be done. You don't have to worry about that with Gateway. They are honest and won't try and sell you stuff you do not need.

Gateway Transmissions replaced the struts on my car and they fixed an electrical problem. They done maintenance ever since and I am pleased with the work that they do.

Gateway Transmissions has done a lot of work to my company cars, like, replacing engines, for the past five or six years. I continue to use them because they're always right on schedule.

Gateway Transmissions is just wonderful. Bill and Max are honest guys who really know their stuff. They did very good work for me and the prices were extremely reasonable. The work was done on time and I haven't had to bring my vehicle back for anything other than oil changes. They put in a brand new engine motor for my truck and rebuilt the rear end with great care. Everyone there is professional, friendly, and helpful. They don't try to upsell you and they don't use confusing jargon. I'd strongly recommend them.

First contact with Oak Harbor Gateway was 2006 - new F350 getting its first tranny service. Since then, nobody else gets any of our vehicles for transmission work. In fact, there is very little that they won't fix on any of our cars. If all you want is "fix it" and no details, Dave will do that. If you want detailed info, Dave will do that, too. A friendly place for quality work.

I had a transmission problem. I know Bill outside of his shop, so I went to Gateway Transmissions. Max, his son, mainly does most of the contact work. Bill is a great guy, and Max is a good son. It all just ended up being extremely expensive, just like my other experiences with every other transmission shop. The tab ended up being about twice what I had thought it would be. It also took a long time to do it. I know they were transitioning, but there were times I didn't see a lot of activity in the shop. I went back to them for more work, and I am not knocking them, but it was more of the same I've experienced elsewhere.

The work is as good as the reviews say they are. 10/10. I was very pleased with my overall experience with Gateway. The service was everything I expect in a mechanic. He gave it to me straight and didn't sugar coat anything. Not only did he fix the problem with my car, but he took it a step further to go after the cause of the problem, and he kept me informed along the way. So after it was all said and done, I ended up not having to worry about whether the problem was going to occur again. The price that I payed was exactly at the same level as how I felt I was treated while my car was there: fair and honest. The work was superior, and I could tell that he was going to fix the problem rather than just address the issue. I will be returning for all of my car maintenance needs. Bottom Line: 10/10 Service, speed, overall experience, and especially quality.

I have had several cars taken there for service and Gateway has never overcharged me. This was the first time I used them and I plan to use them again in the future.
