I just purchased a new truck. Prior to my purchase I wanted to have it checked out by a mechanic but my mechanic was quite a distance from where this truck was at. So I got on the internet and found Mt. Vernon Towing & Auto Repair. It was 10 at night and the last thing I thought I would be doing is making an appointment at that time. But there it was.. a button on their site to "make an appointment"! I received a confirmation in the morning. When I arrived I was very impressed with their shop, clean, good equipment, nice waiting room, clean bathrooms. They were very thorough with the inspection of my truck but found very little wrong with it so I ended up purchasing it. I was so impressed with their shop, their knowledge and their prices for servicing that I made an appointment for my new truck to come back and get the small things they recommended to get taken care of. I came back and they provided me with a loaner car! Who does that these days? I love this place, I am a very busy person and I did not have to sit and wait, they got me out of there and on my way. I was just as pleased on my second visit as I was on my first. Their location is not the most convenient for me but I will go out of my way in the future to get my truck and other vehicles to this good mechanic.

Did an excellent job with the repairs!

Dave scheduled an appointment the same week and performed a transmission fluid change the same afternoon as promised. Very flexible and personable as well as more reasonably priced versus competition.

I was in a time crunch and a busy day. I was told it would take 45 to 60 minutes for an oil change, etc. It was done in 60 min. I really appreciate the firm commitment and friendly service.

When I began to notice that my 2005 BMW X5 was starting to slip out of gear, or stick in gear and over-rev, I started to look for a highly recommended transmission shop to get an experts review. After about a week of searching for the right place, I was referred to Gateway Transmissions in Oak Harbor and told to talk to Dave. When I came in, Dave and Charlie were quick to help me diagnose what could be possibly going wrong in my vehicle. This shop was very professional in their assessments and truthful with how much I could be expecting to spend in a "worst case scenario". I am in the Navy and was detaching the next week and was worried that I could be unable to contact the shop in case anything went wrong. Dave was very good at emailing me while I was on the boat, ensuring to get appropriate permission to search further into the problem. When it had been confirmed that I was going to need extensive repairs, I was already confident that the correct work would be completed and in a timely manner. By the time I had returned, Dave had my vehicle almost completely repaired. All that it was waiting on was an outside source to send back my valve body after its refurbishing. When the vehicle was ready to be picked up, a full disclosure and limited warranty was agreed upon and I drove off with a fully functional vehicle. I truly appreciate this shops professionalism in performing the maintenance necessary to get me back on the road. Weston said he always goes to this business for service and they fixed his vehicle for free. He said he did not realize the service was covered by his warranty. Instead of making him pay for it they were honest with him and told him that it was covered.
