My car broke down and the dealership couldn't even look until Jan. 2. I couldn't wait over two weeks! Vollans fit me in a 4pm, one hour before closing, found the problem quickly and had the part delivered that night! They stayed late to get me back on the road and changed my oil while they were in there. While I was waiting, a woman came in asking about her headlight being replaced but it needed the bumper taken off to do so. The guys at Vollans knew a quicker way and not only got the lamp they didn't have delivered in half hour, they also got her head light changed out without taking her car apart! I guess they're lucky they had skinny arms! We will definitely use Vollans for our future auto needs! Fast, friendly, affordable service, for sure! I'm so glad I gave them a shot!

As a repeat customer I depend on honest answers when choosing a mechanic shop. I also expect shops, perhaps a bit naive of me, to care about "my" wallet as well as their own. I'm happy to say both of the above can be found at Car Care Clinic in Mt. Vernon.

I had the gentlemen here recently replace the transmission in my 1988 GMC Suburban, as well as a few other things. Not only were they timely with the repairs, but they kept me up to date with what was going on and how much it would cost. I recommend them to anyone I know for anything from oil changes to heavy duty rework.

Finding a good auto shop and mechanic can be quite tiresome and difficult. After my previous mechanic retired and I moved out of the area for a bit, I was reluctant to start the search again. But wouldn't you know it, at some point I needed some vehicle maintenance done. Having been to several others in the area, (I won't name names) I was underwhelmed. Either it was poor maintenance or ridiculous prices or both. Recently, my wife had taken in one of our vehicles to the dealership for an oil change and inspection and the mechanic identified a problem with the rear axle. We were told the fix was going to cost about $1000. Having some mechanical knowledge (and previously spent 6 years in the military performing aircraft maintenance) I was skeptical of the suggested fix. Needing a second opinion I took it over to Vollns Automotive. I had known about them for years (I went to high school with one of them) and heard nothing but good things about their performance, so I made an appointment. I was not disappointed in the least. I took our vehicle in, was shown exactly what the problem was in about 15 minutes and the correct parts were ordered. Once the part was in, we scheduled the times and it was done with no lag time. The best part was I saved about $700 dollars versus the dealership "fix". If you need some work done, or even a second opinion on something, give them a look. You won't be disappointed.

The crew at the Oak Harbor location is great! They are knowledgeable, and explain everything that they are doing and what needs to be done. I wouldn't go anywhere else and I live almost 3 hours away!

Be wary of working with Vollans. Once Tim views you as a “regular,” he will no longer call to provide you with an estimate before he instructs a tech to begin work. Also, be prepared to wait for days to have simple fixes performed; this is a popular shop with the locals, and things move slow in Sedro. Tim is a very friendly person, but he is also sarcastic and rude, which is somewhat paradoxical. I don’t believe that they overcharge, but they aren’t conscientious, either; they don’t change hoses, belts, etc. as a matter of course. Tl;dr: Go 20 miles north to Bellingham if you want professional service.
